Glyn Thomas
Co-founder of We Could Even & Root Cause Collective
Glyn Thomas has been working in communications for 22 years, initially as a photographer and journalist. Since 2008 he has worked with NGOs, charities and progressive political parties in the UK, EU, North America, South America and Asia. His work involved a mixture of digital strategy, online marketing and web development, primarily with the aim of reaching new audiences and mobilising existing supporters.
Glyn worked at Friends of the Earth in London between 2009 and 2012 before moving to Global Justice Now and then on to the Vienna-based mobilisation agency more onion. He went freelance in 2016 and has since worked with over 100 organisations, helping them devise and implement digital strategies. He frequently runs training sessions, workshops and delivers presentations in-person and online, in English, French, German and Spanish.
He is a co-founder of the UK-based digital agency We Could Even. The agency has recently worked on data visualisation projects for Action for Children, Plan International UK and the Care and Support Alliance, with the aim of clearly communicating complex local policy data to politicians.
He is also a co-founder of Root Cause Collective - a group of freelancers that help charities and not-for-profits campaign and fundraise more effectively.
Glyn recently completed a law degree at the University of London, and holds a CIPP/E data privacy certification. He also has degrees in Modern European Languages (Durham), Photography (Durham) and Renewable Energy (Newcastle). For the past 10 years, he has also taught students on the Media, Campaigning and Social Change MA course at the University of Westminster about effective supporter journeys, data and analytics in campaigns.
